Ursan makes pugging easier.. It's sort of an equalizer for the horribly crappy. I don't personally think its any better than a very good bar in general but I must say it's a metric ton better than some of the horrendous bars I've seen pinged from time to time. Monk with Flesh golem and dwaynas sorrow? wtf.

Me and the Wife just take heros and clear FoW. Last night I did it with 2 guildies and 5 heros. Don't need a full human group as long as you load up your heros with decent builds, runes, etc.... and know how to control them. Used my Koss as stance tank to aggro.

stop QQing, honestly. Why does everyone and their mother think it's interesting to start yet another thread about this ? What makes this thread different from the other billions of whine-threads about ursan ?

It's there, and probably there to stay, so learn to live with it or uninstall ...

Hamstorm warriors, or wammos with mending... mesmer with half-monk half-mesmer bars, meleemancer necros, eles who think are better with conjure phantasm than meteor shower, monks who bring firestorm when you asked them to go prot... could tell you much more...

And well, IMHO it's faster than spending 4 hours with a balanced PUG group that might fail last quest (seen it happen...). I've cleared the areas before, I use whatever goes the fastest, and I'm not the only one who does that. Not everyone who use Ursan is a skill-less noob.

^ Needed to get that outta my system at least once >_>...

Kudos on the Colbert Report picture.

But yeah only option is guildies or make your own pug that is not ursan and kick all the ursan scrubs.

how's this different from before gw:en? groups wanted: 1 obsidian tank, 2 monks, 4/5 nukers, 0/1 necro. if you were paragon, derv, assassin, ranger, mesmer, or rit good luck getting into a pug. now with ursan, any class can get into a pug.

To the OP: Welcome to Guild Wars... and it's descent into dystopia. I am very sympathetic with you. Guild Wars has its problems... ever so more now with a skill system which is clearly and absurdly divided into "1337" and as Kusandaa so delicately hinted at: "noob". Now, rather than use your mind to interpret a build, anything which doesn't have "wiki" all over it is considered "noob".

Personally I'm glad they never ask me to ping. You won't believe how many times I have snuck into HM UW ursan groups with Healer's Covenant. I am just as effective as the HBers... no one notices, which only serves to prove the hypocrisy of this "leet" or "noob" stigma. Now, I know that some builds are simply folly, but what is sheer folly is not helping people improve.

it's differnet because there's NO non-ursan groups anymore.
and paragons + rits destroy PvE. and did you not see the all mesmer fow clear picture? (no consumables, no non mes skills used).

It's fine if people use ursan if they want. I don't care.

I suggest you buy EoTN so you can ursan for a bit, and then join everyone on guru in QQ'ing about it. To QQ or not to QQ is not a question, but simply a matter of time.

/End.

Yet not wanting something like GW:EN because you personally don't like it's content is down to the decision of the majority of the community?

You shouldn't have to purchase GW:EN just to join a PuG in any area of the game or have access denied to playable content with a group just because you don't want to waste money. Regardless of how bad PuGs are.

But yeah, it's overrated.

How are you as effective as HB/HP Monks? The only part you have changed is removed GoLE and inserted Fast Casting. Healer's Covenant is now bad again due to the fix. He has a point, and using bad skill combinations is bad.

Don't forget that I used the word "PuG" in there. Plus the majority of the PvE community are bent on Ursan, so it's beyond difficult to even find a guild that doesn't do it.

That's so true. I'm not saying ursan is great.. but why spend 4 hours when you can also do it in 2 and less chance to fail..

Oops sorry, didn't mean to criticize the good builds using this.

I should've been cleared and mentionned the builds that doesn't make sense, like the Me/Mo I saw a while back. Bane Sig, Orison, Healing Breeze, Conjure Phantasm, Empathy, Res sig, a cap sig and something else I can't remember. And that was for FoW.

At least with Ursan I know their skill bar is gonna make sense...

In related news, Guild Wars sucks when you play it with other people.

I guess I was a bit broad with my statement. I should have said nothing is denied to you aside from utter failure due to incompetance of PuGs.

And no, it is not difficult to find a guild that is devoted to non Ursan play. If I went down to guild connections, I could link you at least three recruiting guilds. I wouldn't call that "difficult".

You can either get GWEN or find a guild that don't run ursanway. Whatever you do, don't complain on a forum where nobody can help you because you don't have an expansion.
